ABOUT THE ORGANISER

Jo Barrett teaches Cuban Salsa and Rueda across Sunderland and the North East, and also leads line dancing and Salsacise classes for groups of various ages and abilities. She runs a weekly salsa night in Sunderland and co-teaches another in Whitley Bay, as well as bringing the salsa fun to various community festivals. Jo is also the organiser behind our charity events every two months, helping bring our community together to dance for good causes.

Dancing has been Jo’s passion since she was 3 years old, beginning with ballet and ballroom & Latin before discovering salsa about 10 years ago – and never looking back. Dance has been an important source of joy and connection throughout her life, especially during tougher times, and she loves sharing those same benefits with others.

THE CHOSEN CAUSE
