I’m thrilled to have Andreas RU SalsaRebel joining us for this Salsa for Charity night! Originally from Russia and raised in Europe, Andreas was introduced to Latin dance during his university years, igniting a passion for the vibrant Latin culture. Having travelled to 46 countries, Andreas has shared his dance expertise worldwide as both a Dancer and Choreographer, including serving as a Dance Cast Captain on US Cruise Ships.

Teaching Salsa and Bachata at congresses, festivals, workshops, and hosting parties in the UK and beyond, he exudes a love for dancing, teaching, and performing. His smooth dance style is complemented by his unique teaching approach, ensuring a blend of learning and laughter in every class. In his own words, Andreas reflects, "Dance is my story, what I fail to put into words."

DJ Pablito, who a lot of you will know from previously running Salsa for Charity, will be keeping the dance floor busy after the salsa masterclass until midnight! He’ll be playing a fantastic mix of salsa and bachata with some kizomba and the odd merengue and cha cha if requested.

THE CHOSEN CAUSE
Andreas has chosen the charity this month. He is passionate about supporting local foodbanks so we are supporting the Sunderland Foodbank. They are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK. They don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why they provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to them in crisis.

Donations not only help them keep their foodbank running, they help them to provide additional support, such as debt and other advice, when and where people need it most.

Sunderland Foodbank is part of Durham Christian Partnership (Reg Charity 1077549).
