We’re delighted to have Joanne and Graham Clarke from Tees Valley Salsa joining us for this month’s Salsa for Charity night!

They’ll be kicking things off with a fun and friendly Bachata class. Joanne and Graham teach weekly Salsa and Bachata classes in Yarm, near Middlesbrough, and run their popular Tees Valley Salsa Socials on the first Saturday of each month.

Their teaching style is clear, encouraging and full of positive energy, with a real focus on making everyone feel welcome and comfortable. We’re in for a great start to the evening!

ABOUT JO BARRETT

I'm a salsa dancer and teacher and I organise the Salsa for Charity events.  I teach salsa dancing because (a) it's FUN and (b) it does absolute WONDERS for your physical and mental wellbeing.  The beginners salsa class will run in the bar area in conjunction with the main classes.  No partner or dance experience needed.

THE CHOSEN CAUSE

This month’s Salsa for Charity night is a little different — we’re dancing in a truly spectacular setting: Tynemouth Priory!

To say thank you for letting us use this incredible venue, half of the money raised will go directly to English Heritage, helping them care for and preserve this historic site, along with hundreds of others across the country.

English Heritage brings history to life and protects some of the most iconic landmarks in the UK, making places like Tynemouth Priory accessible and unforgettable for all of us.

So come dance with us under the open sky, surrounded by centuries of history — and help protect it for generations to come.

THE VENUE

We’re so excited to be dancing at the stunning Tynemouth Priory – a truly unique and atmospheric setting with views of the sea and the historic priory ruins as our backdrop!

We’ll be dancing on grass, so please wear flat, outdoor-appropriate footwear.
As we’ll be outside, make sure to bring appropriate layers of clothing. Toilets will be available on site.

A bar will be available on site (to be confirmed – we’ll update you as soon as it’s final!).
Please note: this event is weather dependent – keep an eye on the group and event page for updates if the forecast looks uncertain.

This is a truly special opportunity to dance in one of the most beautiful and iconic locations in the North East!
