We’re excited to welcome Alfredo and Christine! Full of personality, they have been running the award-winning Engine Shed Latin nights in Wetherby for over 20 years. Together, they’ve been teaching just as long, sharing their love of Latin dance with dancers of all levels.

​

This versatile duo teach Salsa, Bachata, Bachatango, and Merengue, and are known for getting the party started with their fun and lively Latin line dances. Alfredo will be leading our salsa classes for the evening – get ready for an fun night on the dance floor!

ABOUT JO BARRETT

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I'm a salsa dancer and teacher and I organise the Salsa for Charity events.  I teach salsa dancing because (a) it's FUN and (b) it does absolute WONDERS for your physical and mental wellbeing.  The beginners salsa class will run in the bar area in conjunction with the main classes.  No partner or dance experience needed.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

 

THE CHOSEN CAUSE

​​This month, we're supporting Handcrafted, a North East charity empowering people to transform their lives after facing barriers such as homelessness, poverty, addiction, or the criminal justice system.

​

With workshops in Durham, Gateshead and Chester-le-Street, Handcrafted offers mentoring, community, and practical skills training

— from woodwork and upcycling to cooking, crafts and construction

— all within a supportive environment that helps people rebuild confidence, gain independence, and move forward with hope.

​

By providing both creativity and community, Handcrafted helps people who have been excluded or overlooked to discover their value and unlock their potential.

​

Your support at this month’s event helps make those transformations possible!
